LBEF CAMPUS Partners with Genese Cloud Academy to Introduce specialized course in Cloud Computing

Kathmandu, Dev 15. The cloud is being adopted in increasing numbers for business, and cloud computing is expected to become a $300 billion business by 2021 globally. Career opportunities for Cloud professionals have grown exponentially to meet the demands of digitally transformed industries, and newer job roles keep emerging in the field. As businesses increasingly adopt Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings, the leading cloud providers are growing more competitive. Over the past three years, job searches that included keywords related to the top cloud providers, such as “AWS”, Google Cloud,” “Azure” increased by 223%. 

 LBEF CAMPUS offers UG and PG programmes in collaboration with Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia.  

Genese Cloud Academy (GCA), a Genese Solution’s initiative, is a program for the education sector with a vision to introduce, train, and upskill students in the Cloud Computing ecosystem. GCA aims to provide the students of IT and Management with a wide variety of tools and resources that they can use to not only enhance their theoretical knowledge of cloud computing but to also implement what they learn in real life. The intent is to build work-readiness of graduating students so that they’re able to effectively enter and meet the demands of the industry.

Er. Pankaj Jalan, Chairman, LBEF Group of Institution said, “To bridge the gap between industry and academia, LBEF CAMPUS (The First IT College of Nepal) has partnered with Genese Cloud Academy to produce employable graduates in the field of Cloud Computing”. 

Mr. Anjani Phuyal CEO of Genese Cloud Academy emphasised the importance of industry and academia collaboration. He said, “Today in this digital era, cloud computing has become the backbone for all industries. Cloud computing has turned to a fundamental  resource which needs to be  managed very efficiently by companies. It has created huge employment opportunities for IT students with new different job titles. To grab this global opportunity learners must keep themself updated about the  recent development in this field. This partnership between Genese Cloud Academy and LBEF is meant to minimize the existing gap between academia and industry.”  In his speech he further focused  that this partnership will provide  a platform to  B.Sc. IT Students where they can specialize in Cloud Computing and will get internship opportunities at GCA and GCA Partner Institutions. 

Mr Kanishka Agiwal, Segment lead for India and South Asia for AI/ML                                    congratulated both LBEF and GCA for this collaboration. He said that Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. He focused on the benefits of  AWS Educate Program started by Amazon which offers different education programs covering all age segments in different emerging fields such as cloud computing, data science and machine learning. He also added that such programs from industry provide information to academic institutions on what their curriculum should be focused on. He also acknowledged GCA for helping to grow Nepalese IT market.   

Mr Hemant Chaurasia Immediate Past President of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) and Executive member of (World Information Technology and Services Alliance) WITSA shared his opinion on the importance of partnership between different stakeholders of the IT industry. He expressed  readiness of CAN to support educational institutions to enrich IT education. He also said that the presence of Genese Cloud Academy has helped to reduce the existing gap between academy and industry.
