KATHMANDU, MARCH 24: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has called upon Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, to make policy-level arrangements to channelise remittance into productive sectors.

Citing that 90 per cent of remittances are being used in the non-productive sectors, such an appeal was made by a delegation of the NCC led by its President Rajendra Malla in a meeting with Minister Bhandari held recently.

Similarly, the delegation urged for establishing export houses in all seven provinces to bolster the promotion of local products and removing obstacles impeding foreign investment, especially in light of the upcoming international investment summit next month.

The chamber also stressed the importance of spurring economic expansion, particularly referring to the economic bill pending in parliament.
