NEA decides to reconnect power supply

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 12: In line with the recent cabinet decision, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is to resume power supply to those industries not paying premiums for the electricity used through dedicated feeders and trunk lines.

The 960th meeting of the NEA Board of Directors was held under the chairmanship of the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation today to reconnect the electricity till the submission of a report by a probe commission.

The commission was formed by the government to investigate a row between the Authority and industries regarding outstanding electricity bills.
The NEA had disconnected the power supply to 24 industries that had to pay more than Rs 50 million in tariff.
