KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has plummeted by 15.40 points ( 0.78%) to close at 1948.57 on Monday, the second trading day of the week.
The benchmark index saw fluctuations as it opened at 1,963.98 points and declined to 1,937.83 points within the initial six minutes of trading. Then, it immediately gained 49 points before going down to 1,928.92 points within the first two hours of trading. The secondary again increased by around 20 points after the period.
In today’s trading, the sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also went down by 4.33 points. A total of 303 scrips were traded in 109,918 transactions, with the total turnover standing at Rs 4.84 billion.
Non-life insurance, microfinance, manufacturing and processing, and mutual funds were the gainers of the day. The mutual funds saw the highest gain of 2.16 percent.
On the other side, the sub-index of the development bank with a decline of 80.69 points suffered the most.
When it comes to the individual companies, the market value of the stocks of 81 companies increased while the same of 157 went down. Bottler Nepal Limited (BNL), Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL), and Dolti Power Company Limited (DOLTI), each recorded a remarkable rise of 10%.
Likewise, Samata Gharelu Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) recorded the highest loss of 7.15%, closing at a market price of Rs 610 per share.
It may be noted that on Sunday the benchmark saw a massive upsurge of more than 100 points as a result of the flexible first quarterly review of the monetary policy by Nepal Rastra Bank.
