Glocal Teen Hero – Nepal to be hosted Virtually
Kathmandu, September 1. Today, Glocal Pvt. Ltd announced the application opening of Glocal Teen Hero – Nepal, 2020. Considering the global pandemic COVID – 19; this year Glocal Teen Hero Nepal shall be hosted virtually on December 12, 2020.
Glocal Teen Hero (GTH) is an initiation of Glocal Pvt. Ltd (a business enterprise working in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, and skilling) to bring out the teenagers who are doing something beyond their academics and are active to create a positive effect in their society. It is a platform for teenagers to share their initiation, creativity, and enthusiasm which will then motivate them and more of the other teenagers in the nation to develop an entrepreneurial thinking. It also aims to take the platform to all over the world by 2030 to support teenagers’ initiations. Currently, Glocal Teen Hero Franchise has been leading in different South Asian Countries.
Initiated from Nepal in 2015, targeting only teenagers from Kathmandu and later by the year 2016 it expanded nationwide toprovide a national platform for all the teenagers.GTH has already marked a great history by recognizing teenagers from the year 2015 to 2019. Till now, 5 teenagers from Nepal and 1 teenager from India havebeen awarded as a Glocal Teen Hero. Likewise, 60 teenagers have been recognized as Glocal’s 2ounder20 in the year 2017, 2018, and 2019 (20 teenagers each year) respectively from Nepal.
On December 12, Glocal Teen Hero – Nepal will be held online in the presence of promising industryleaders from diverse fields ranging from education, entrepreneurship, diplomacy, bureaucracy, and many more. It shall be also live-streamed through the Glocal Teen Hero Facebook page and different media Television. From the first phase of Application opening to Recognizing teenagers (GTH event day) everything has been settled online this year.
Elated with the announcement, Mr. Asish Thakur (Executive Director of Glocal Pvt. Ltd.) shared that “Despite the challenges of COVID – 19, Glocal Teen Hero program is going digitally this year and we believe this will be the greatest opportunity for teenagers to showcase their initiation nationally in these essential time and empower fellow teenagers.”

From the total no. of applications and document review; Top 20 and Top Six Finalists will be shortlisted for the final round of Glocal Teen Hero –Nepal based on initiation and their impact of work. The finalist screening will be through online and interviewed online by a jury team comprising of Mr. Abdullah TuncerKececi(General Manager of Turkish Airlines), Mr. Ujjwal Shrestha (Executive Director of Panchakanya Group), Mrs. Ritu S. Vaidya (Managing Director at United Traders Syndicate Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Rahul Chaudhary (Executive Director of Chaudhary Group) and Mr. Anil Chitrakar(President of Siddhartha Inc.)
The one fantastic teenager will be titled as “Glocal Teen Hero – Nepal” and also be recognized as one of the Fantastic Teenagers in the Global. The winner will be given a chance to share his/her inspirational initiation and aspiration for the future.

Similarly, Glocal also announced the fourth edition of WaiWai Presents Glocal International Teen Conference on September 1, 2020.Glocal International Teen Conference (GITC) is an international conference for teenagers in Nepal and abroad. GITC is an opportunity for teenagers to network with teenagers around the globe, initiate collaborations and identify opportunities for growth, thereby, building long lasting friendships and fostering cultural exchange. GITC is merely a conference, but a place teenager come to share and learn. It is a place where ideas meet and collaborations take place. This time GITC is also going to be held virtual, so the registration opening announcement was also done amidst the virtual conference.
The main objective of GITC is to help teenagers to understand leadership and empowerment in today’s environment providing opportunities for teenagers to share existing and generate new knowledge & perspective in the respective fields of discussion and also inspiring the initiation of the teenagers across the globe; teenagers attend presentation sessions, interact with their peer teenagers through a panel discussion. It is a platform for knowledge and experience where teenagers can learn about leadership, empowerment and social impact through a participatory and interactive environment with their peers from all over the globe.
