Three companies face tax avoidance charge

Kathmandu, Sept 19 . The Department of Revenue Investigation has reached court, seeking actions against three companies charged of tax avoidance.
The Department has sought the court’s support to reclaim around Rs 362.4 million from the alleged perpetrators.
The companies facing the charge are SS Hardware, Kathmandu, Rukmini Industries Pvt Ltd, Battisputali, Kathmandu and Kapilvastu district-based Krishna Trading Suppliers, said Department director general Dirgha Raj Mainali.
The Department has demanded the recovery of Rs 222.6 million from the SS Hardware, Rs 124.6 million from the Rukmini Industries and Rs 15.2 from the Krishna Trading Suppliers.
The SS Hardware and Rukmini Industries face the case at the Kathmandu District Court while Krishna Trading at the Kapilvastu District Court. During the Department investigations, they were found avoiding tax with the use of fake bills and invoice.
