Chinese national held with 4 kg of gold in TIA
Kathmandu, Aug 5 . A Chinese national was arrested with 4 kilos of gold from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu Sunday night.
The Metropolitan Police and the officials of the Department of Customs stationed at the only international airport in the country apprehended the Chinese national identified as Li Ningxi whose passport number is EC5438666.
According to Chief of the Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Shailesh Thapa, the Chinese national had landed Kathmandu from Hong Kong boarding the Cathay Dragon flight at 10:50 pm.
“The smuggled gold biscuits amounting to 4000 grammes were seized from the Chinese national,” informed DIG Thapa, adding that further investigation into the case was underway taking the accused into custody.
