Naresh Shakya appointed as the Chairman of NCHL

Kathmandu, June 25 . The 128th Board Meeting of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) today has appointed Mr. Naresh Shakya, as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company. Mr. Shakya is the Executive Director of Banking Office, Nepal Rastra Bank.
Likewise, the board also endorsed Ms. Kusum Lama, Director, Smart Choice Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (SCT) as the new director representing SCT. Mr. Shakya was nominated by NRB after the retirement of Mr. Jhalak Sharma Acharya. And Ms. Lama was nominated by SCT as a replacement of Mr. Rabindra B Malla.
The board members of NCHL currently include a representative from Nepal Rastra Bank, three representatives from commercial banks, one each representatives from development banks, finance companies and Smart Choice Technologies P. Ltd.
NCHL is a public limited company promoted by Nepal Rastra Bank, majority of the banks & financial institutions and Smart Choice Technologies Ltd. for establishing multiple national payment systems in Nepal. It has been operating NCHL-ECC, NCHL-IPS and connectIPS e-Payment systems. It has over 80 BFIs as its direct members and over 11 non-bank institutions as its indirect/ technical members.
