Amendment proposed on Govt policies, programmes
Kathmandu, May 5 . The main opposition Nepali Congress, the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and lawmaker Prem Suwal registered separate amendment proposals in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives in regard with the government policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2076/77BS. Lawmaker Minendra Rijal registered the amendment proposal, on behalf of 23 NC lawmakers, seeking the replacement of phrase ‘My Government’ by ‘Nepal Government’.
Rijal argued ‘My government’ was used against the constitution in the policies and programmes. “One of the objectives of the promulgation of the constitution is to fulfill the aspirations for sustainable peace, good governance, development and prosperity through the federal democratic republican system of governance which is clearly stated in its preamble.”
The new policies and programmes were unable to meet the people’s aspirations for good governance, development and prosperity, highlighting the essentiality of its amendment, lawmaker Rijal underscored. RJP Nepal leaders Rajendra Mahato, Laxman Lal Karna, Chanda Chaudhary and Chandra Kant Chaudhary also sought amendments on several points of the policies and programmes.
