Hotels in Udayapur yet to come under tax net
Gaighat, May 3. Most of the hotels and shops being operated in district headquarters, Gaighat and other municipal areas have yet to come under tax reach.
According to Triyuga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gaighat, over 2500 retail shops and hotels are in operation in Gaighat and Triyuga municipality areas.
Among them, only 1,800 entrepreneurs including shopkeepers and hoteliers have obtained membership of the Association and come under the tax ambit, shared Ramesh Biswokarma, vice-chairperson of Triyuga Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Majority of shops and hotels operational in Gaighat Bazaar, Dewari, Bagaha, Motigada, Bokse, Rajabas, Chuhade and Old Gaighat are unlawful for not paying tax.
“The entrepreneurs first should take membership of the Association before coming under tax reach. Still many shops and hotels have not come under the tax ambit”, said the representatives of Triyuga Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chudamani Karki, former general secretary of Triyuga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said still 25 percent shops and hotels being operated in district headquarters Gaighat and Triyuga municipality. RSS
