‘Anyone involved in public land grab in Baluwatar, Khula Manch be booked’
Kathmandu, May 2 . Lawmakers attending today’s meeting of the Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly demanded that the government clarifies the issue of public land encroachment in Baluwatar and Khula Manch to the public.
Anyone involved in the illegal act, irrespective of political leaders or those in power, should not be spared from action, they demanded. Also members of the Committee, they likewise wanted decisions of the committee to be implemented.
Putting her view in the meeting, Sarita Prasain reported that many public in Lalitpur and Kathmandu districts have suffered encroachment. The issue should be discussed with government’s representatives including mayor and deputy mayor of the district suffering public land encroachment, she viewed.
Bimala Poudel was of the view that the Secretariat should look into whether the Committee’s decisions are enforced or not.
