KMC to provide Rs 2.5 million assistance to storm survivors

Kathmandu, April 5. The Kathmandu Metropolitan City will provide an assistance of Rs 2.5 million to the storm-affected people of Bara and Parsa districts.
The 31st meeting of the KMC Executive took this decision on Thursday. The amount announced in assistance is one day’s salary of the KMC’s staffs and the people’s representatives. Moreover, the meeting also decided to present four bills in the municipal assembly, KMC spokesman Ishwar Man Dangol said.
The proposed bills include: the Bill of Public-Private Partnership, the Bill on Vehicle and Transport Management, the Bill on Disaster Risk Reducation and Management and the Bill on Urban Planning Commission. KMC is holding its municipal assembly on April 7.
