Civil service employee caught for bribery

Kathmandu, March 22 . A squad from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a civil service employee on the charge of bribery. The CIAA confirmed that Ram Kumar Phuyal, the first-class non-gazetted officer at the Department of Foreign Employment, was arrested for demanding and taking bribe of Rs 60,000.
He allegedly forced a service recipient facing a complaint at the Department for witnessing the documentation process of financial transactions related to foreign employment to pay him secretly and illegally, otherwise be ready to face an arrest warrant.
The civil servant gave the amount he forcibly and unethically received to one fruits supplier Dhruba Khadka of Jorpati Chowk. The CIAA team caught him red-handed while taking the amount back from Khadka from the Jorpati chowk-based Sapkota Sweets House on Thursday evening.
