Online media asked to renew their registration timely

Kathmandu, March 14 . The Department of Information and Broadcasting under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has urged the online media operators to renew their registration on time.
Issuing a press statement here today, the Department brought to the notice of online media operators who had received certificate by registering their online media to the Department by mid-July last year to renew their registration by mid-April this year.
The government in 2017 issued Online Media Operation Directive-2017 to make registration, renewable and operation of online media in the country more systematic.
The Clause 6 (1) of the Directives stipulates that any online media registered with the Department shall be given six months of grace period from the end of that year’s fiscal year for renewal.
