Govt to control Chand-led NCP
Kathmandu, March 12 . The government has decided to control the activities of the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand. The decision was taken by a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar this evening.
The government decided to control the party after concluding that it was losing the political character. Talking to RSS following the meeting, Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali said it is the duty of the State to control them as they were gradually losing a political character. Accordingly, the government has decided to control the activities of the party.
The need to control the activities was felt after it continued with destruction and explosion, while rejecting the government’s call for a dialogue. Concluding that the group’s activities were of criminal nature, the government decided to prohibit its activities.
