Two foreign pilots injured in separate paraglider accidents
Kaski, March 4 . Two paragliding pilots were injured, one seriously, in separate paragliding accidents in Pokhara today.
Janusz Karol, 30, of Poland was injured when his paraglider crashed into an electric pole at Machhapuchhere rural municipality. He has sustained burn injuries when he came into contact with the live wire of the power transmission line. Karol, who is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, is reported to be in serious condition.
He had sought permission to fly the paraglider from Pokhara-based Blue Sky Company.
Likewise, another paraglider smashed into a tree at Madi rural municipality, injuring 63-year-old Russian national Yagubiw Ilgiz.
The locals later rescued Ilgiz, who was stuck in the tree. The information about which company granted permission to Ilgiz is yet to be known, said Kaski police spokesperson Rabindra Man Gurung.
