Ex-Deputy Prime Minster Adhikari passes away

Kathmandu, March 2. Former Deputy Prime Minister and Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari passed away on Saturday. He was 82.
Bhaskar Raj Panta, medical director at HAMS Hospital based in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, in a statement informed that leader Adhikari, who has been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past three weeks, passed away at 9.35 pm today. He has been afflicting from heart and lungs related complications.
Adhikari’s mortal body will be kept at party central office, Dhumbarahi, from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon on Sunday for tribute, informed Krishna Gopal Shrestha, CPN office secretary.
Adhikari who became parliamentarian of Nepal four times had served as Minister for Finance, Physical Planning and Works and Justice and Law.
As a Finance Minister in the government headed by Manmohan Adhikari, he had brought out popular programmes, including social security allowance.
