‘Pledge to work for Lumbini Development’

Rupandehi, Feb 22. National Assembly member Khim Lal Bhattarai has announced to take lead role for the development of Lumbini – the historical birthplace of Gautam Buddha.
He publicly made his commitment to take leadership for Lumbini development amid a programme on Thursday. Lawmaker Bhattarai took the initiative to hand over aid to Lumbini Primary Health Centre on the same day.
He shared annually 1.6 million tourists are turning up to Lumbini in the pursuit of peace but return with disappointment after noticing poverty and backwardness of the epochal site.
He shared that a level of discussion is taking place with the ministry for the construction of a hospital in Lumbini which has become a must for the tourists coming here.
“Here is no hospital to provide medical assistances and services to the tourists”, he said, adding that, “I have initiated effort for the construction of a well-equipped hospital in Lumbini’.
Dr Binod Khanal, Chief of Primary Health Centre in Lumbini, shared that the Helping Hand for Relief and Development, an INGO, aided materials worth Rs 1.1 million under the aegis of Bhattarai.
