PM promises cooperation with private sector
Kathmandu, Feb. 14 . Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government would move ahead by establishing active cooperation with the private sector.
Addressing the ‘Nepal Entrepreneurship Conference-2019’ jointly organised by Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and Ministry of Finance in the Capital on Thursday, PM Oli said government has introduced investment-friendly laws in cooperation with the private sector.
Stating that the government and private sector should work in tandem, PM Oli expressed the government’s readiness to encourage entrepreneurship.
He also said that a robust foundation has been prepared for country’s prosperity and added “We have moved ahead with the clear target needed for economic development. Our destination is prosperous Nepal. We are committed to the development.”
“Now, Nepal as a nation is no more a yam in between two stones but a prosperous nation with immense opportunities in between two giant economies,” he argued.
Also speaking at the same programme, former finance minister Surendra Pandey suggested that the government should take some special decision for the development of entrepreneurship adding that incentives and subsidies were needed to promote new entrepreneurs in the country.
Likewise, former National Planning Commission Vice Chairman Dr Govinda Pokharel, Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Kumar Thapa, NCP lawmaker Mahesh Basnet, CNI Chairman Haribhakta Sharma, industrialists Shekhar Golchha, Dr Upendra Mahato, Anuj Agrawal, Dr Rajendra KC and others expressed their views for more opportunities for the investors and joint collaboration between the private sector and government for bringing economic prosperity in the country.
