Cabinet decision: Fifteen million in prize money for athletes
Kathmandu, Feb 14 . The Government has decided to honour athletes, coaches and officials winning laurels for the nation in various competitions with cash prize worth Rs 15.6 million. The prize recipients include those from cricket, football, bodybuilding and South Asian Games.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 8 took the decision, according to Government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota. He shared the decisions taken by the government at the regular press meet in the capital today.
Likewise, the cabinet decided to table the National Sports Development Bill, 2075, the Safeguards, anti-dumping and counter-vailing Bill, 2075 in the federal parliament and approved the Prime Minister Employment Programme Operation Directive, 2075, and Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee formation (first amendment) order, 2075.
The government will also be presenting the Millennium Challenge Compact reached between the Nepal and the MCC of the USA for approval of the federal parliament and decided to amend the Immigration Regulations, 2051, schedule 11. The cabinet granted authority to the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu to take another decision in regards to approving/cancelling the citizenship (Maya Devi Thapa Chettri).
Likewise, the latest cabinet meeting decided to appoint Subas Sitoula to the post of General Manager of the Industrial Area Management Limited and designate senior Director at the Nepal Telecommunications Authority Purottam Khanal as the Officiating Chair of the NTA.
