Social campaigners arrested
Kathmandu, Jan 22 . A total of 21 campaigners associated with Human Rights and Peace Society, who were staging a protest in front of the federal parliament building at New Bnaeshwar in the capital, were arrested today.
The arrested are Krishna Pahadi, Uttam Pudasaini, Hom Kanta Chaulagain, Dr Gangadhar Adhikari, Bal Bahadur Gaha Magar, Ram Krishna Baral, Gita Timilsina, Jagannath Pudasaini, Chandra Mani Banjara and Ishwar Pudasaini.
Similarly other arrestees are Sukadev Adhikari, BP Poudel, Ishwari Nepal, Rupa Giri, Baburam Neupane, Narayan Shrestha, Binit Aryal, Kiran Dhakal, Murari Prasad Phunyal, Nani Kaji Giri and Amrit Jung Mahat.
Those arrested are under custody at the Baneshwar Police Circle. They had staged the protest demanding to sack the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, taking action against culprits involved in irregularities in purchasing wide body aircraft and meeting the demands of Prof Dr Govinda KC.
