Nepal-China relations very close, Vice President Pun says
Kathmandu, Jan. 11. Newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi paid a courtesy call on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun on Thursday at the latter’s office in Bahadur Bhawan.
Exchanging views on Nepal-China relations, the Vice President said that Nepal-China bilateral relations are very close and historic despite the formal ties was established in 1955 adding that the bilateral relations have extended to the people to people levels.
Vice President Pun expressed the confidence that Nepal-China relations would be further strengthened during the tenure of Ambassador Hou Yanqi.
On the occasion, the Vice President reiterated Nepal’s stance on one-China policy. “Nepal is committed to one-China policy. China has also extended its support to Nepal’s sovereignty and national indivisibility. Nepal also won’t tolerate any anti-Chinese activities in its land,” the Vice President added.
Pun also said that Nepal was moving ahead on the path to development and prosperity by achieving political stability and expressed the confidence of Chinese support in this journey of Nepal.
Likewise, Chinese Ambassador Hou said that Nepal-China relations were very close. “I got the opportunities to meet Nepal’s top leadership in ten days of my arrival. This show how close we are,” she said.
