Charge sheet filed against three on polymer note print
Kathmandu, Dec 20 . The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has registered a graft case against three persons, including ex-Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Dr Tilak Rawal on charge of corruption on printing polymer notes.
The constitutional anti-graft body filed corruption case against former Governor Rawal, the then chief of Note Department Upendra Keshari Poudel and local representative of May Flower Limited entrusted with the responsibility for printing Polymer Note Himalaya Bahadur Pandey penalizing total Rs 27.3 million.
The CIAA has slapped penalty of Rs 9.19 million each against three persons in the case.
In the charge sheet filed at the special court today, it is stated, “The persons were convicted of making vested economic deal in printing 50 million pieces of polymer notes of Rs 10 through local agent of Australia and printing sub-standard notes”.
