Rural municipality provides employment to 366 locals
Parbat, Dec 19 . The Mahasheela Rural Municipality has provided employment to 366 people at once.
The local government offered employment opportunities under its programme ‘One House; One Employment’. It has come up with the employment plan to mobilize people in the designated area as volunteer for 15 days and involve in home-based production for 15 days.
According to spokesperson of Mahasheela, Jeevan Thakuri, 220 people will be provided with employment as road volunteers for the highest 220 days. As employees, they will be involved in road maintenance and up-gradation.
Twenty people will be offered employment as teaching volunteer while 27 were mobilized as school volunteers in the community schools of the rural municipality.
Likewise, 34 people will be mobilized as village security volunteer. Among others are electricity volunteer (10), plumber (10), cooperative volunteer (5), agriculture and livestock (11 each), public health volunteer (5) and social mobilize (6).
Chief Administrative Officer of Mahasheela, Kishan Chhetri shared that the rural municipality had imparted skill-based training to 370 and developed them as ‘Mahasheela Development Volunteer’ in the first phase and selected 366 for skill-based training in the second phase.
As many as 2,200 families are living in Mahasheela rural municipality. Mahasheela Chairperson Raju Poudel shared that the local government will provide an employee with monthly salary of Rs 6,000 for 15 days. “The concept has been put forth to develop competent human resources required for the rural municipality”, he informed.
Each employee under the scheme will also have accidental insurance of minimum Rs 500,000.
