MoFA to embrace int’l relations linking nation’s prosperity
Kathmandu, Dec. 11. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has accorded top priority to maintaining international relations that best suits the country’s goal of economic prosperity.
The MoFA has come up with this vision to supplement the nation’s dream for prosperity with the implementation of the new constitution coupled with political stability and completion of the peace process in our homegrown modality.
The Ministry has accelerated its diplomatic dealings to enhance friendly and balanced relations as well as for the promotion of business, trade, tourism and people-to-people relations with the neighbouring countries while deepening our relations with the labour destination countries on the basis of mutual interests and goodwill.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali termed the efforts made so far as productive in further deepening Nepal’s relations with neighbouring countries India and China and with the development partners to translate the government’s vision of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’.
“Safeguarding Nepal’s sovereignty, geographical indivisibility and country’s independence through foreign assistance, foreign direct investment, trade promotion and tourism promotion and reaching the destination of economic development and prosperity is our goal,” Minister Gyawali said releasing the MoFA’s annual report here Tuesday.
“There is no need to remain in the narrow-mind about Nepal’s position as a poor and least developed nation in the global picture. Country’s image shall shine in the global picture as an inclusive and prideful prosperous nation on the foundation of unique peace process and political transformation,” Minister Gyawali noted.
He added that environment conducive has been created where Nepal can reap benefits of development spillovers of India and China following the recent bilateral high-level visits and agreement on railways expansion.
Minister Gyawali also said that Nepal-India relations would reach to a new high after the implementation of the Nepal-India EPG (eminent persons’ group) reports after the heads of the executive of both the countries receive the report soon. rss
