Conducive environment for investment created in Nepal: FNCCI Vice President
Kathmandu, Nov 22 . Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal today said a favourable environment has been created in Nepal for investment with the recent formulation of the two labour related laws.
The laws– Labour Law and Social Security Law–are also expected to establish and develop industries and resolve labour-related problems, said Dhakal, also Chairperson of the Employers’ Council under the FNCCI, at an international conference on ‘labour economic situation and its current trends of Japan’ organised in Tokyo, Japan. Dhakal is in Japan to take part in the conference.
He said that these laws would make positive impact on country’s economy as employers are agreed to provide service and facility to workers as per the new arrangement as well as these laws are brought after long discussion and consultation among government of Nepal, employers, representatives and trade unions and FNCCI.
Saying the country has got a stable government after a long political transition, Vice-President Dhakal urged foreign investors to invest in Nepal.
He said that an environment conducive for investment has been created in Nepal as it is right time for foreign investors to invest in various sectors in Nepal as laws related to workers have been formulated by addressing issues of workers and political stability has been established in the country.
Representatives of employer companies and business houses of 14 countries of the world had participated in the conference, said Dhakal.
