PHC endorses Ghimire as new CIAA chief

Kathmandu, Sept 20 . The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has endorsed Navin Kumar Ghimire as the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
A meeting of the committee today unanimously endorsed the name of Ghimire proposed as the new Chief Commissioner. The Committee conducted hearings of Ghimire before giving its approval to appoint him as the chief commissioner of the CIAA, according to committee’s senior most member Laxman Lal Karna.
Karna shared that Ghimire was approved unanimously after going through his presentation, action plan, capability and experience required to lead the ombudsman body.
Ghimire had presented his action plan to control corruption and irregularities under his leadership while assuring to lead the constitutional body with collective efforts. He was leading the institution since 14 February 2018 as the acting chief.
