TIA operates service for 22 hours daily

Kathmandu, Sept 1. Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has come into operation for 22 hours a day from today as it extends its opening hour by an hour.
The working hours have been set from 5:00 am to 3:00 am of the next day. Earlier, the government had run the TIA for 21 hours daily from 5:00 am to 3:00 am from May 21.
The TIA General Manager Raj Kumar Chhetri said, “Although the TIA had remained open from 6:00 am, the domestic flights were operated only from 7:00 am. But the flights will be operated from 6:00 am onwards.”
The TIA has started its service from 5:00 am in view of increasing flow of passengers following coming festivals and tourist season.
Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines have been operating flights in the additional time—12:30 am to 3:00 am daily.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airlines, which has been operating five flights in Kathmandu, has added additional flight from today till October 27.
