Talks on Nepal-China Railway project positive, Tokha of Kathmandu fixed last station
Kathmandu, Aug 26 . Talks between the Nepali and Chinese authorities on Nepal-China Cross Border Railway Project ended on a positive note, the officials shared.
The recently held bilateral talks in Xi’an of China deliberated on the Pre-feasibility Study Report for the Railway Project between Nepal and China and concluded with a decision to further the detail study of the project.
The both sides had intensely discussed the Report and offered recommendations for the further study of the Railway Project that would begin from Shigatse of China’s Tibetan Autonomous Area and would enter to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi through the bordering point, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport.
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Rajendra Raj Sharma, said the Chinese consultant First Survey and Design Institute (FSDI) would submit the final report within few days by incorporating the suggestions furnished in the recently held meeting.
As per the pre-feasibility study report, Rasuwagadhi-Kathmandu railway would be 72-kilometer long where there would be most of tunnels and bridges. Tokha of Kathmandu has been fixed for the last station of the railway. RSS
