Man arrested with ruby worth Rs 160 million

Kathmandu, Aug 6 . The police today made public a man arrested on Sunday in illegal possession with two kilograms ruby worth approximately Rs 160 million, amid a press meet.
A team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbarmarga, acting on a tip off, held Dipak Sijapati, 48, of Lalitpur while supplying the valuable stone in the Kathmandu market.
Sijapati has been charged with storing and supplying the precious stone illegally.
Likewise, the police arrested two persons with over IRs 1.2 million including banned banknotes of IRs 500 and 1000 denomination.
Rajendra Shrestha, 53, of Kathmandu and Suraj Malla, 43, of Kaski were arrested on Sunday night from Kathmandu on the charge of smuggling the banned banknotes.
