MoU signed between Nepal and China
Kathmandu, July 30 . The Government of China is to provide assistance through various projects to the social development endeavours of Nepal.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Social Welfare Council and the China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE) to run projects in the field of community development, livelihood, disaster management, skills-oriented training, education and health services. The MoU was signed on Sunday evening, according to the Council.
The MoU was signed by Minister for Women, Children and Elderly Citizens Thammaya Thapa on behalf of the Council and on behalf of China by visiting Chinese Deputy Minister for External Affairs Wang Yajun. Minister Thapa also chairs the Social Welfare Council.
On the occasion, Minister Thapa stressed the need for strengthening age-old relations between the two countries at the people-to-people level, while saying the agreement would help the countries to establish cooperation and coordination for their socio-economic development.
Deputy Minister Wang expressed happiness over being able to support the development and prosperity of neighbouring Nepal.
Meanwhile, the Council’s legal advisor Nisha Baniya shared that Chinese government has donated two broomer machines to the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
