Preparations for joint border security meeting

Nepalgunj, July 11. Preparations have been expedited for holding a district-level joint border security meeting of Nepal and India.
The meeting that is likely to take place here by coming July 16 will be attended by Chief District Officers of Banke, Bardiya and Dang districts (from Nepal side) and security officials Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur, the Indian districts sharing border with Nepal.
According to Banke’s Chief District Officer (CDO) Ramesh Kumar KC, the District Administration Office here has already dispatched a letter to the Bahraich district administration in this regard and it is waiting for a response from the Indian side to fix the meeting date.
The meeting will primarily focus on the discussions about cross-border crimes such as drugs peddling, human trafficking and smuggling of arms; and inundation issues in Nepal, among others, CDO KC added.
