Cabinet endorses norms for ambassadors’ appointment
Kathmandu, July 8 . The meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has approved set criteria for the appointment of the ambassadors.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers also decided to scrap the Local Bodies Fiscal Commission. As per the decision, the details, resources and property of the commission would be transferred to the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission.
The government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Banskota shared that the meeting decided to call back Nepal’s Permanent Representative to UN based in New York, Durga Prasad Bhattarai, by July 31.
The cabinet meeting has also decided to accept Rs 10 billion in loan assistance to be provided from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group for Nepal’s energy sector and its efficiency enhancing.
The meeting also decided to fix the bodies and implementation process of small scale development projects to be run under Indian assistance.
Likewise, the meeting has decided to provide compensation to 33 people as recommended by the National Human Rights Commission. It has also decided to sign an agreement between the governments of Nepal and Saudi Arabia on investment and assistance in industries, trade, investment, science, information technology, tourism and sports.
Furthermore, the meeting endorsed the Vital Registration (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2075, the National Master-Plan on the Elimination of Child Labour Regulations and the Electricity Regulatory Commission Regulations, 2075.
