Narayangadh-Muglin road blocked by landslides

Chitwan, July 4. The Narayangadh-Muglin road section has remained disrupted with the landslides triggered by monsoon rains hitting it at two locations this morning. Landslides occurred at Topekhola and Kalikhola along the route have blocked it for the vehicular movement.
According to Narayangadh-Muglin road project chief Rohit Kumar Bisural, the landslide hit Topekhola at 5:30 am while Kalikhola experienced the landslip at 8:30 am.
Efforts are going on to clear the landslide debris with the help of two excavators and human resources. The area continues to witness a light rainfall and the route will be readied for a two-way transport by 4:00 pm today provided that no landslide onwards. One-way traffic is likely to resume soon.
Landslide debris has completely covered the road. Chitwan’s Chief District Officer, Jitendra Basnet said they were doing their best to resume transport. It is said that these areas continue to be hit by landslides for the past two weeks.
The road-widening project undertaken here has spurred the problem and risk of landslide here, it is said.
