83 per cent houses being reconstructed
Rasuwa, April 24 . The reconstruction of houses destroyed in the 2015 earthquake has been accelerated in the district.
Chief of District Project Implementation Unit, Dhir Phadera informed that 83 percent of 11,633 houses damaged in the earthquake are now being reconstructed.
Among 10,704 households contracted for reconstruction grants, 8,881 have got second installment, while recommendation is made from the technical level for the third installment of the grant to 3,996 households. With this, the release of the third installment of the grant is forwarded.
In the five Rural Municipalities of the district, those receiving third tranche are 1,007 in Uttargaya Rural Municipality, 1,046 in Aamachhongmo Rural Municipality, 424 in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, 1,046 in Kalika Rural Municipality and 1,062 in Naukunda Rural Municipality.
Meanwhile, the transportation of construction materials was hindered with the snowfalls and geographical remoteness, said Chief of District Coordination Committee, Kul Prasad Bhatta, adding that as most of the households are reconstructing their houses at the same time, the scarcity of labour has hit hard the district.
