Rupee up 13 paise against dollar in early trade

Mumbai, Jan 10 – The rupee appreciated 13 paise to 61.94 against the dollar in early trade on Friday at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market on increased selling of the US currency by exporters and higher capital inflows.
Forex dealers said besides selling of the American currency by exporters, gains in other currencies against the dollar and a higher opening in the domestic stock market also buoyed the sentiment.
The rupee had ended flat at 62.07 against dollar yesterday.
Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark Sensex today rose 67.68 points, or 0.32%, to trade at 20,781.05 in early trade.
