Toyota moters to recall 242,000 vechiles

Tokyo, June 5 – Toyota Motor Corp said it will recall about 242,000 vehicles worldwide, including the Prius hybrid, due to a brake glitch.
Toyota said on Wednesday that the brake in the recalled vehicles may not work as well as it is supposed to because a part used in the electronic brake system may not be strong enough, and could crack.
Toyota is recalling 113,550 Prius vehicles in Japan. In the United States, it is recalling 81,570 Prius cars and 5,030 of the HS 250h, Yamada said.
In 2010, Toyota, an leader in gas-electric hybrid technology, recalled 433,000 hybrid vehicles including the Prius and HS 250h because of a braking software glitch.
