British official unemployment rises

London, May 16 – British unemployment has risen for the third month in a row, official data showed today, while total pay growth sank to its lowest level in four years.
The number of unemployed people climbed by 15,000 to reach 2.52 million in the three months to the end of March, compared with the three months to the end of December.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) added in a statement that Britain's unemployment rate stood at 7.8 per cent in the same period. AFP
