Yemen Receives Grants of US $25 by World Bank

Menafn, May 6 – Yemen and World Bank has singed an agreement on granting an extra financing aid of US 25 million to the Social Fund for Development (SFD) on saturday.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Sa'adi, SFD's acting executive director Abdullah al-Dailami and WB Country Director for Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti Hartwig Schafer. The amount is dedicated to support the 4th phase of the SFD's project designed to provide 4-month jobs for over 5,000 people with a salary amounting to US 400 per month.
After the agreement signing ceremony, al-Sa'adi praised the WB's contributions to support the stability and development paths in Yemen, accenting that the WB acted as a positive model in fulfilling its financial commitments pledged to Yemen in Riyadh donor meeting.
He said that the government and the Bank are making arrangements to hold a high-ranking consultative meeting between Yemen and donors in this May. Schafer said that the World Bank's grant aimed at improving the performance level of the SFD's intensive work program in Yemen. Quatar News
