Short film festival concluded

Kathmandu, April 15 – Chaya Chabi creation,which had organized a three days short film festa 2013 has ended on Sunday.

The festa held in Mandela theater presente 40 movie along with documentaries. The film ticket was fixed 50 rupees and students were discounted by 25% .

The fictin film ‘Shunya’  stood first position secured 10 thousand  ‘Nomads but Not’ directed by Govinda Nepal won the ‘Best Short Film (Documentary)’ title. The documentary shows the problems of the yak herders in Dolakha’s village of Sailung.

The Jury Award’ was presented to Ishu Lama Shakya for ‘The Wine Opener’ and ‘Public Choice Award’ was won by ‘Mepwaya’ directed by D P Shah.

Based on the missing people at the hands of the army and the Maoists, Ganesh Pandey’s ‘The Last Message’ took home the ‘Encouragement Award’. Amitesh Shah won the ‘Best Message Film’ for his documentary, ‘The Great Journey’, on spiritual pilgrimage in the Mithila region.

There were a total of 40 short films in the festival with 36 competing for awards while four were non-competitive.
