4G communication technology(Wi-Max) in Nepal

Kathmandu, March 25 – Nepal telecome is expanding its services to general people by each day. Considering the easy accessibility to people telecome is providing Wi-Max broadband internet service to the general public from Wednesday.
The telecom giant on Sunday decided to start providing the high-speed wireless internet service to households and individual customers. WiMax is part of the fourth generation (4G) communication technology and provides high-speed wireless internet service over vast distances like the mobile phone network.
According to Telecom the service would be distributed to customers in the Kathmandu valley from its offices at Sundhara and Jawalakhel.
Presently, WiMax broadband is available only to corporate customers in 49 districtsand has palnned to make the services available in all the 75 districts within two months.
