Madhes province unveils Rs 43.89 billion budget for next fiscal year

DHANUSA. JUNE 16: The Madhes province government has introduced its annual budget of Rs 43.89 billion for the fiscal year 2024/25. Minister for Finance of Madhes Province Bharat Prasad Sah presented the budget in the province assembly yesterday.
According to the budget proposal, over Rs 16 billion (36.45 percent) has been earmarked for recurrent expenses, while Rs 27.89 billion (63.55 percent) has been allocated for capital expenses.
The budget for the upcoming fiscal year is 0.50 percent less than the current fiscal year’s budget. Minister Sah said the Madhes province government has focused the budget on education, health, agriculture, and tourism.
