Bagmati Province unveils budget of Rs 64.54 bln

HETAUDA, JUNE 16: The Bagmati Province Government has announced a budget of Rs 64.54 billion for the fiscal year 2024/25. Economic Affairs and Planning Minister of Bagmati Province Jagannath Thapaliya tabled the budget at the province assembly meeting ysterday, allocating Rs 26.1 billion for current expenditure and Rs 36.93 billion for capital expenditure.
The size of the budget in the province is Rs 1.83 billion more compared to the budget of the current fiscal year. Minister Thapaliya stated that Rs 1.5 billion has been allocated for fiscal management.
Minister Thapaliya has allocated 40.44 percent for current expenditure, 55.23 percent for capital expenditure, and 2.32 percent for fiscal management. According to Minister Thapaliya, the upcoming fiscal year's budget has prioritized the education, health care, agriculture, and tourism sectors. The province government's budget has also announced the declaration of a 'Skill Year' for the upcoming fiscal year.
