KATHMANDU, JULY 21: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has urged members of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF) to reinvigorate the ‘Made in Nepal’ campaign.
While addressing the 20th annual general meeting of NYEF last Friday (JULY 20) in Kathmandu as the special guest, Dhakal mentioned that the ‘Made in Nepal’ campaign, started about 15 years ago by NYEF, has become a source of inspiration for many organizations.
Dhakal applauded NYEF for taking the lead in many areas as the youth organization of FNCCI. He also commended NYEF members for their efforts in raising the prestige of FNCCI, which has the potential to contribute to the economic prosperity of the country.
Dhakal informed the gathering that the government had endorsed the Startup Policy on the initiative of FNCCI. He highlighted that FNCCI had been successful in defining startups in the law, which is an achievement. Dhakal expressed confidence that NYEF members would continue to play a significant role in promoting entrepreneurship.
Dhakal also shared that FNCCI has passed the draft of the Federation's statute amendment by the draft committee. A provision has been included in the draft that the President of NYEF will be an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee. He mentioned that some arrangements regarding membership still need to be made and expressed hope that the upcoming Special General Assembly will pass it, allowing NYEF leadership to reach the leadership of FNCCI.
Discussing the country’s economy, Dhakal mentioned that they have met with the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Home Minister, and Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies. He informed the audience that they have urged the government to work on boosting the morale of the private sector, which has been positively received.
