Inflow of remittances worth Rs 263 billion in second month of current FY

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 15: The country received over Rs 263 billion in remittances during the second month of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 228.37 billion in the same period last year.

“Remittance inflows increased by 15.2 percent to Rs 263.14 billion in the review period, following an 18.7 percent increase during the same period last year," stated the Nepal Rastra Bank in its Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal report.

In U.S. dollar terms, remittance inflows reached $1.96 billion in Bhadra, up from $1.73 billion in the corresponding period last year, according to the central bank.

Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers receiving first-time approval for foreign employment stood at 76,485, with an additional 40,583 workers securing approval for re-entry.
