Joint strategy to be developed to control revenue leakage

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 30: The government has formed a joint strategy to control revenue leakage. According to the Ministry of Finance, a meeting held yesterday involving senior officials, including the heads of the Customs Department, Inland Revenue Department, and Revenue Investigation Department decided so. 

The meeting also decided to enhance inter-departmental coordination, strengthen information sharing, and improve collaboration.

During the first three months of the current fiscal year, revenue collection increased by 13.3% compared to the same period last year.

The government has set a target of collecting NPR 1.419 trillion (1419.3 billion) in revenue this fiscal year, with NPR 1.284 trillion (1284 billion) expected from taxes. As of today, NPR 272.82 billion has been collected, accounting for 19.22% of the total target, according to the Office of the Auditor General.
