CNI, PRI agree to collaborate on policy-research

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 20: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) and the Policy Research Institute (PRI) have signed an agreement to collaborate on policy research, focusing on industries, services, and related sectors. The partnership aims to support evidence-based policymaking by conducting in-depth research and providing recommendations to the Nepalese government.

The agreement was formalized on Thursday at the CNI Secretariat in the presence of CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal. PRI’s Executive Chairman, Prof. Dr. Lekhnath Sharma, and CNI’s Director General, Dr. Ghanshyam Ojha, signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations.

Speaking at the event, President Agrawal emphasized CNI’s longstanding commitment to providing research-backed policy recommendations to the government. He expressed confidence that the collaboration with PRI would further enhance the impact and effectiveness of these efforts. He noted that by working together, CNI and PRI could offer clearer and more effective policy guidance, ultimately contributing to economic growth. CNI has also established a dedicated Research Cell to ensure all policy suggestions are grounded in thorough analysis.

PRI Executive Chairman Sharma highlighted that partnering with CNI, a key representative of the private sector, would strengthen Nepal’s culture of research-driven policymaking. He reaffirmed PRI’s commitment to evidence-based recommendations and expressed optimism that the collaboration would amplify the impact of their work.

The signing ceremony was attended by CNI Senior Vice President Birendra Raj Pandey, PRI Spokesperson Dr. Dipak Kumar Khadka, and other officials.
