Nepali Embassy established in Portugal

PORTUGAL, FEBRUARY 23: For the first time, a Nepali embassy has been established in Portugal. A team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun providing services following the embassy's establishment in Lisbon.
The embassy has started operations from a temporary office in Alcântara, Lisbon. In collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in France, it has also launched a mobile service to offer consular services, including the verification of essential documents.
According to the embassy, the mobile service, which began last Friday, has already processed the verification of around 200 documents, including police character certificates (police reports).
During the mobile camp, the embassy will provide consular services for the verification of police character certificates, relationship verification certificates, birth and marriage registrations, and other documents, except for power of attorney verification.
Additionally, ready-made passports will be distributed to applicants who previously applied for electronic passports during an earlier mobile camp. For those who were unable to complete their passport applications due to various reasons, digital photographs and fingerprints will be collected again.
Nepal’s Chargé d'Affaires to Portugal, Ram Babu Nepal, told RSS that the embassy has prioritized essential services related to passports and document verification through the mobile camp to assist Nepalis facing documentation issues.
He assured that the Nepali Embassy in Lisbon would soon provide all necessary services and urged Nepalis residing in Portugal to remain patient as full operations take time to establish.
