Paramount Motors unveils MG S5 Electric SUV in Nepal
It comes in 3 variants with two battery options (49 kWh and 62 kWh)

KATHMANDU, MARCH 7: MG has officially unveiled its new SUV, the MG S5, in the Nepali market. During an event held yesterday in the capital, Paramount Motors, the brand’s official distributor, launched three variants of this latest model with two battery options—49 kWh and 62 kWh.
The 62 kWh variant comes in a single trim, priced at NPR 5.49 million, offering an extended range. The 49 kWh variant is available in two trims: the entry-level trim, which lacks features like a sunroof and leather seats, is priced at NPR 4.39 million, while the fully loaded trim is available for NPR 4.99 million.
Bookings have also begun with an NPR 50,000 advance payment, and deliveries will start in the coming days. According to WLTP testing, the 49 kWh battery offers a 340 km range, while the 62 kWh battery delivers a 430 km range. All variants are equipped with a 99 kW electric motor.
"The MG S5 also excels in charging capabilities. Using a DC fast charger, the 49 kWh battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 26 minutes, while the 62 kWh battery achieves the same in just 21 minutes," states Paramount Motors.
The interior features a minimalist design with a 12.8-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver information display, and heated and ventilated seats, enhancing comfort and convenience.
With 180 mm of ground clearance, the MG S5 is said tobe well-suited for Nepal’s diverse road conditions. It features a CATL-manufactured LFP battery, which is thinner than conventional designs, resulting in a more spacious and comfortable cabin. The MG S5 combines performance, technology, and practicality, making it a compelling choice in Nepal’s EV market.
