Nepal receives nearly Rs 1200 billion in remittance

KATHMANDU, JUNE 11 : The government has recorded approximately Rs 1200 billion in remittances in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year.
The remittance inflow increased by 19.02 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year. The Nepal Rastra Bank released data yesterday showing the country received Rs 1198 billion in remittances by the end of the Baisakh month. It had increased by 23.4 percent in the same period last fiscal year.
During the review period, the number of labor permits (both institutional and individual) for foreign employment reached 374 thousand, while 237 thousand people sought labor permits for the second time.
